If “business model” sounds uncomfortably academic or just consulting jargon to you, you are probably not alone. Most tech startups revolve around a unique product or service, not a business model – and quite rightly so! However, a company without a business model is bound to fail so sooner or later you better sort out yours.
In this talk for the IT University of Copenhagen students on 27 March 2015, I discuss why value creation and value capture tend to diverge in the digital ecosystem, and why to avoid what I call the Startup Business Model.
